WWE SmackDown results: Daniel Bryan went onto beat Sheamus and qualify for the final of Intercontinental tournament. Jeff Hardy was arrested while stumbling around and reeking of alcohol.

WWE Friday Night SmackDown opened in shocking and controversial, manner. SmackDown went on air with Elias laying in the street next to a crashed car. The car was searched by police, revealing an open bottle of alcohol and paperwork showing it was Jeff Hardy’s rental car.
After realizing the abandoned vehicle belonged to Jeff Hardy, the embattled WWE Superstar was arrested while stumbling around and reeking of alcohol.
Both Hardy and Elias were set to participate in the WWE Intercontinental Championship tournament.

In the main event of the Friday night, Daniel Bryan qualified for the final of the Intercontinental Championship tournament by edging out Sheamus. The veteran superstar was slated to face Jeff Hardy but WWE had to replace Hardy in the contest. Bryan will now face AJ Styles in the final next week.
Sheamus, however, won the Battle Royal by eliminating rest of the superstars to come back in the title picture. Sasha Banks def. Alexa Bliss via pinfall with a roll-up. Bayley and Nikki Cross were on commentary for the match.
Another one-on-one match between Lacey Evans and Sonya Deville ended in a double count-out as none of them was in the ring at the count of 10. Shorty G was eliminated by Cesaro in Battle Royal when referees were busy with other superstars.
A video package was aired announcing Matt Riddle’s move to SmackDown. The video was introduced by Kurt Angle, who spoke about refereeing Riddle’s final NXT match this past Wednesday. The video did a good job of getting across Riddle’s perfect mix of high-intensity wrestling and laid-back attitude.
