Cricketers these days have been really busy on social media during the ongoing coronavirus lockdown. From India captain Virat Kohli to England all-rounder Ben Stokes, engaging fans via social media seems to have become a new norm for players worldwide. Former England captain Kevin Pietersen, who has never been shy of using social media to voice his opinions, took to Twitter on Friday with a hopeful view of England’s current Covid-19 crisis.
More than 250,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus have been reported in the United Kingdom with more than 37,000 deaths recorded. However, in England, people will be allowed to meet in public places and private gardens in groups of up to six starting on Monday, and in Scotland, groups of up to eight people from two different households will be allowed to meet outdoors from tomorrow. Pietersen seems elated at the news.
“Weather – (heart-shape emoji) Covid deaths going down – (high-five emoji) We can see our friends and families from Mon – (dancing emoji)”: tweeted Pietersen on Friday.

Recently, Pietersen answered a few things which Virat Kohli’s fans often wonder about. In fact, he has answered to things which can give the fans of Sachin Tendulkar a sigh of relief. The former batsman was recently asked if Virat Kohli will go on to break Sachin Tendulkar’s milestone of 100 international hundreds.
Kevin Pietersen didn’t mince words and said, “It’s difficult because of injury, the longevity of Tendulkar’s career.” Pietersen reckoned that Sachin Tendulkar’s less aggressive attitude helped him stretch his career for over 20 years.
“Tendulkar wasn’t as emotional when he was in the field and he did not carry the same sort of aggressive attitude on the field. He was a lot more relaxed. It depends on how long Virat Kohli continues to play. Remember, Kohli plays all three forms of the game, plus he plays the IPL. For majority of Sachin Tendulkar’s career, there was no T20 cricket and there was no IPL. So it all depends on how long Kohli plays for,” Pietersen said in an interview with timesnownews.com.
Pietersen, who played with Virat Kohli for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in IPL, was also asked if the latter was the greatest modern-day batsman. The answer from the legendary batsman was crystal clear again. Pietersen said he was way ahead of Kane Williamson, Joe Root and Steve Smith.
“No other option. It’s Virat Kohli, across all formats. He is way above everybody else,” he said.
