Champions Trophy-winning captain Sarfaraz Ahmed was joined by his son as the duo recalled Pakistan’s win over India in the final of the tournament in 2017.
On July 18, 2017, Pakistan, led by Sarfaraz, stunned a Virat Kohli-led Indian side in the final of the Champions Trophy at the Oval in London.
Sarfaraz Ahmed posted a video of his son recalling the triumph as he asked him some questions from the high-octane encounter.
Sarfaraz begins the conversation by asking his son about what Pakistan achieved on this day, 3 years ago. Sarfaraz’s son gets it right by saying ‘Champions Trophy’.
From recalling that Pakistan defeated India to getting the names of the centurion, half-centurions and wicket-taker’s right, Sarfaraz’s son seems to have impressed his father.
Sarfaraz took to social media to share the video. “Abdullah is glad and fortunate to be the part of one of the greatest days of our life as he recalls it after watching the final of #ChampionsTrophh2017 for the 5th time..,” Sarfaraz wrote as a caption.

Pakistan, who have beaten India only thrice in 12 meetings in 50-over ICC tournaments, rallied against the odds to beat their arch-rivals by 180 runs in the final.
After losing the toss, Pakistan came up with a refreshing batting approach as Fakhar Zaman hit a 106-ball 114. Azhar Ali and Mohammad Hafeez hit fifties and Babar Azam chipped in with 46 as Pakistan posted a mammoth total of 336.
India were error-prone on the field as they conceded 13 wides and 3 no-balls, including the game-changing one wherein Fakhar Zaman was handed a reprieve as early as the 4th over of the match.
In response, India’s top-order was blown away as Mohammad Amir removed captain Virat Kohli, opener Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan cheaply inside the 1st 10 overs.
With experienced stars Yuvraj Singh and MS Dhoni failing to trouble the scorers much, hardik Pandya played a cameo of 76 (43 balls) but it wasn’t enough as India were bundled out for 158.
