With the cricket world going through a shutdown, cricketers have been busy on social media, not just engaging fans but also their fellow players. On Thursday, England fast bowler James Anderson poked fun at his former captain Nasser Hussain after Sky Sports uploaded a clip of the latter dropping a dolly during a Test match vs South Africa.

In the clip, Anderson bowled a wide delivery to former South Africa captain Graeme Smith, who drove in the air only finding Hussain at point. But what should have been the simplest of catches, couldn’t be completed as the ball went through Hussain’s hands on to his thigh before lobbing on to the ground even as the England skipper had a go at it.

“Great effort @nassercricket. Saved a certain 4”: wrote Anderson while retweeting the video.

Anderson himself was trolled by his fellow fast bowler Stuart Broad recently. Anderson hit the ground running at Old Trafford in Manchester as he posted a video of himself on Instagram, in which the pacer can be seen running in and then delivering the ball.

“I’ve missed this place! Slowly easing through the gears but enjoying being back,” Anderson wrote as the caption.

Broad came up with a cheeky comment on the former’s Instagram post as he commented “Tight Shorts.”

England players resumed their training last week as the country plans for a return of international cricket which has remained suspended since mid-March following the coronavirus outbreak.

Anderson recently said his teammates will have to motivate each other when cricket resumes, and in all likelihood, in front of empty stands.

“We’re lucky (in England) that most Test matches are sold out, certainly the first few days, we get big crowds so motivating yourself isn’t an issue,” Anderson told CNN Sport’s Amanda Davies via Instagram Live.
