In what remains one of the most fun episodes on a cricket pitch, England all-rounder Samit Patel slipped awkwardly in the center of the pitch while trying to complete a run during a County Championship match in 2013 against Derbyshire.
Samit Patel gives up after landing on his back and gets run out at the wicketkeeper’s end. The video went viral immediately after the incident widely shared on social media and video-sharing platforms.
It seems the memories of his Nottinghamshire teammate getting run out still remains fresh in the mind of Stuart Broad. The England fast bowler took to social media to share the clip and said: “Hard for this not to be everyone’s favourite run out.”
The clip was shared by former Australia all-rounder David Hussey.

Notably, Stuart Broad was next in line to bat after Samit Patel’s hilarious run out from the County Championship match.
Broad had revealed that he was unable to control his laughter as he walked in while trying to act professionally.
Broad had taken to social media when the clip first went viral.
“Who put that banana in the middle of the wicket? A must watch,” Broad had written.
Broad has time and again shared the clip on social media. In fact, when he did so in 2018, Samit Patel himself replied to the post.
