India wicket-keeper batsman Sanju Samson on Thursday lauded skipper Virat Kohli, calling him a role model for him and every youngster in the country.

Sanju Samson has shared the dressing room with Virat Kohli and he said that Kohli is a very happy and chilled person to be around.

Sanju Samson also revealed that the Indian dressing room is positive and full of energy under the leadership of Virat Kohli and head coach Ravi Shastri.

“It was the first time I was spending time with Virat Bhai in the dressing room. He may be very serious when it comes to work otherwise, but he’s very chill, and he is a very happy person to be around. The Indian dressing room is so positive and full of energy under Virat Bhai and Ravi sir,” Sanju Samson was quoted as saying by the Times of India.

Sanju Samson has proven himself often in the domestic cricket, however, the wicketkeeper-batsman has not got many opportunities to make a mark in international cricket. He was selected for the 3-match series against Bangladesh last year but Rishabh Pant was preferred over the Kerala batsman.

Samson got a chance to play in a T20I against Sri Lanka in January earlier this year, however, he could manage just 6 runs there. Later during India’s tour of New Zealand, Samson again registered singles digit figures in the 2 T20Is.

“He is one of the best players in the world. The way he takes care of himself, the way he takes his nutrition, the way he trains, the way he takes recovery, he is a role model to me and to everyone,” Samson added.
