Heavy Rain Likely In Mumbai Between August 3-5, Says IMD


Mumbai is likely to face heavy rain between Monday and Wednesday next week.

New Delhi:

Financial capital Mumbai is likely to face heavy rain between Monday and Wednesday next week, the India Meteorological Department said on Saturday.

Along with Mumbai, some other Maharashtra districts, including Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Pune, Kolhapur, Sangli, Beed, Latur and Osmanabad will witness heavy to very heavy rain.

“Possibility of Very hevy to extremely heavy rains over Konkan including Mumbai, Thane, NM from 2-5 Aug Ghat areas too,” senior weather official KS Hosalikar tweeted.

Parts of Nanded, Hingoli, Parbhani, Jalna, Sangli and Aurangabad are also likely to receive light to moderate rain till August 5, the IMD forecast added.

As per IMD classification, “heavy to very heavy rainfall” means precipitation ranging from 64.5 mm to 204.4 mm in a period of 24 hours.
