The new chief of the terrorist group Hizbul Mujahideen Dr Saidullah was killed in an encounter in Srinagar, the police said on Sunday.

The police called the operation “a major success against militancy”.

Dr Saifullah had taken over as chief of the Hizbul after Mujahideen after Reyaz Naikoo was killed in May.
