New Delhi:
The CBI has arrested a junior employee of Uttar Pradesh’s irrigation department for allegedly sexually abusing around 50 children (between five and 16 years of age) over the last 10 years, central agency officials said Tuesday.
The accused was allegedly also selling videos and photographs online
The abuse of children took place across three districts of the state – Chitrakoot, Banda and Hamirpur. The accused was arrested from Banda and is likely to be produced in court shortly.
During raids on the accused’s residence and other locations the CBI recovered eight mobile phones, cash amounting to around Rs 8 lakh, sex toys, a laptop and other digital evidence, including a large volume of child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
The accused told investigators he bribed the children with mobile phones and other electronic gadgets to ensure they stayed silent about his activities.
