Amla, also known as Indian gooseberry, is enriched with a range of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties and several flavanols. They’re incredible for diabetes control, digestion, eyes and skin. More importantly, they are loaded with vitamin A, C, E, all of which are known to do wonders for your immunity. It is said that 100 grams of fresh amla contains the same amount of Vitamin C as 20 oranges.

Honey, on the other hand, is also considered as an excellent cough suppressant. It is abound with antiviral and antimicrobial properties, which is why, young toddlers are often fed a spoonful of honey every day. It is also an excellent substitute for sugar.

Here’s what you need to do, since amla is not particularly palatable for many (owing to its bitter taste), it is a good idea to combine it with something as sweet as honey.

  • Mix one part of honey with one part of amla juice, and have it every morning. In other words, if you are taking 1 tbsp of amla juice, add 1 tbsp of honey to it too. The concoction will detoxify your system, and will also enrich your body with vital nutrients.
