MS Dhoni kept hitting the bullseye: When India star impressed shooter Manavaditya Rathore

MS Dhoni has won everything that is there to be won on the cricket field. Be it the World Cup, the T20 World Cup, Champions Trophy or the ICC Test maze, the former captain has conquered it all during his decorated career.

It is well known that MS Dhoni loves to try his hand at several other activities off the field too. The India wicketkeeper, who started out as a goalkeeper, loves playing golf, riding super bikes and cars. Dhoni has tried his hand at shooting as well.

21-year-old Manavaditya Singh Rathore, who won 3 gold medals at 63rd National Shotgun Shooting Championship, revealed that MS Dhoni is a pro when it comes to shooting as well. Son of Olympic medalist and former sports minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Manavaditya narrated how Dhoni impressed him when the India cricketer visited his residence once.

“I have a lot of respect for him. He has a lot of interest in shooting also. He came home once. I think he hit the target all the time, bulls eye. His personality is quite strong and unique,” Manavaditya Singh Rathore said during his Instagram chat with Suresh Raina on Wednesday.

Dhoni has flaunted his shooting skills in the past. In 2017, when a training session was cancelled due to rain in Kolkata, Dhoni headed to the Kolkata Police Training School and tried his hand at pistol shooting. No surprise, he impressed Kolkata Police with his pistol skills.

The great MS Dhoni takes some time off to practice his shooting skills at our state of the art shooting range this afternoon at Police Training School. His accuracy is breathtaking,” Kolkata Police had posted on their Facebook page.

Dhoni had also shared a clip of him doing some pistol shooting in 2018. “Shooting gun is much more fun than shooting ads,” Dhoni had said.

Dhoni believes in him so much: Raina

Meanwhile, Suresh Raina shed light on what he thinks makes MS Dhoni a successful captain. Stressing that Dhoni is honest when it comes to his process, Raina said his Chennai Super Kings captain operates with a lot of clarity.

“He believes himself so much. He is being very, very honest when it comes to his process. When he feels something is honest, he thinks it will definitely be right. There are two things, you tend to believe in something when you’re confused. On the other hand, when you strongly believe in something, you believe it’s the truth.

‘He has a lot of clarity. He knows how to succeed in life in a humble way,” Raina said.
